The Impact U18 returned to their winning ways after a loss last week to BW Gottschee, the leader of the Northeast division. This time, the Bleu-blanc-noir topped the Oakwood Soccer Club 5-2. Alexis Stevens scored a brace, as David Choinière, Moulay Hamza Kanzi-Belghiti and Don-Junior Bobe also scored in the win.
“I’m really happy with the players’ state of mind and the way they reacted after the last game,” said U18 interim head coach Simon Gatti. “We had a really good first half. In the second half, we conceded two goals, but we faced the storm and scored another goal to make it 5-2. Players reacted well. We learnt from last week, where we didn’t play so well.”
The Impact U16 tied Oakwood 1-1. The Impact scored first, a couple of minutes after kickoff, but Oakwood’s players found the equalizer before the half.
The U16 and U18 Montreal Impact teams won’t be in action this weekend, playing their next USSDA game on October 17 against Seacoast United.
The U14 in action
In order to up the challenge level, the Impact U14 sometimes faces older teams. This was the case last Saturday, as head coach Nicolas Gagnon’s team faced the U15 Sherbrooke Sprint. Despite the loss, the game was an important part of the learning process on many aspects of play.
