Last weekend, the Impact U16 and U18 teams were once again in action, both playing BW Gottschee Academy teams.
The Impact U18 won their game 2-0, keeping their first place ranking amongst 77 teams in the USSDA, earning a third clean sheet of the month at the same time.
“We stay loyal to our defensive principles,” said Impact U18 head coach Jason Di Tullio. “We are the best team in the league defensively because we are united.”
Now, with only one game to go in the regular season, the team aims to finish what it started, and claiming top spot in North America.
“The boys deserve to be top of the league after the work they put in this year,” said Di Tullio. “They were on a mission from day one. We have had our ups and downs, but it’s in our good moments where we were able to express ourselves collectively and individually.”
The U16 team managed to limit their opponents to one goal, but couldn’t find one themselves and fell 1-0.
Both Impact teams will play Beachside SC on Saturday, June 6. The U18s will be in action at 11am, while the U16s will play at 1:30pm on the synthetic field at Stade Saputo.
