The Montreal Impact U23 team closed out its final weekend of home games in its inagural season in PDL with a couple of victories.
In the Friday matchup, the home side cruised to a 5-1 win over Real Boston Rams on the synthetic field at Stade Saputo, with a solid and consistent effort throughout the 90 minutes.
Charles Joly, Frank Zoue, Jems Geffrard, Frederic Lajoie-Gravelle and Anthony Jackson-Hamel rounded out the scoring.
“It was a very satisfying victory,” said head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. “We played consistently for the entire 90 minutes. Five different players scored, including two defenders, and five different players assisted on the goals. It was a collective effort.”
Then on Sunday afternoon, after going down 2-0 in the game’s first eight minutes, the Impact rallied to a 4-2 win over GPS Maine in its last game at Stade Saputo this season.
Charles Joly (2), Kevin Luarca and Nazim Belguendouz scored for IMFC.
With the two victories, the Impact U23s now sit in 4th spot in the Northeast Division (eight teams) with a record of 6-5-2, 20pts.
In its final game of the season, the U23s travel to Vermont to take on the Voltage on Saturday, July 19, at 7pm EDT. For live updates, follow @academieimpact on twitter.
