The Impact U18 faced Concordia University last Sunday in its preparation for the second part of the USSDA season. Yoann Damet’s team won 4-1 with goals from Michel Djaozandry, Brandon Onkony, Junior Camara Souleymane and Giovanni Pulitano.
“The game was generally satisfying, and players are starting to find their bearings,” said head coach Yoann Damet. “In the last weeks, we worked on collective control, which we applied well here, and on the defensive aspect, as we wanted to review our different pressing reference points as well as the individual and collective defensive behavior. We will keep working on recognizing attacking situations in order to unbalance teams more efficiently and put the emphasis on concentration to be more constant over 90 minutes.”
U16 win over Cégep Garneau
The U16, under new coach Nicolas Gagnon, won 5-2 against Cégep Garneau on Friday. Mathieu Choinière scored a brace, while Jean-Arnaud Tano, Protais Mutambala and Clément Bayhia scored the other goals.
“My primary satisfaction was that we scored goals on several of our opportunities,” said the Impact U16 head coach Nicolas Gagnon. “I’m also happy with how well-synchronized the movement between our defenders, midfielders and forwards was for 60 minutes. With the USSDA starting again, we will work on switching the point of attack and on the pressing reference points on the opponent’s side.”
The U18 and U16 teams will play one last preparation game this weekend, before the second part of the USSDA season starts on Saturday, March 5th.
FC Montreal also in preparation
