The Montreal Impact U18 team had another stellar performance last weekend against another MLS academy club, the Philadelphia Union, winning 4-1 as four different players scored the goals.
Still on top of the USSDA general standing, the Impact U18 plays two of its last four games this weekend on the road against the New England Revolution and FC Bolts.
The U16 team loses against the Union
The Impact U16s fell 4-2 to the Philadelphia Union. Despite this, head coach Wilfried Nancy’s players are still determined to reach the playoffs with four games to play this season, including two this weekend on the road against the same opponents as the older group.
Temguia honoured by the USL
Mélé Temguia, FC Montreal centre back, was named to the USL team of the week after an impressive performance in a 1-0 win against the Charleston Battery, on May 14.
“Many teammates could have been included in the week’s best XI,” said Temguia. “Defensively, we were really strong as a team. I’m also really proud of myself. It’s an accomplishment for me over the last few weeks where I’ve worked hard. Now I see this accomplishment as a goal I want to reach again.”
FC Montreal will play its next game against the New York Red Bulls 2, Sunday at 8pm. You can follow the game on www.impactmontreal.com/fcmontreal.
