MONTREAL – Cameroon defender Ambroise Oyongo and Costarican midfielder Johan Venegas have been selected by their national teams for upcoming international games. Defender Eric Miller will also join the U.S. U23 national team for two upcoming friendlies.

Oyongo will join Cameroon for a home and away series in the second round of CAF qualification for the 2018 World Cup, as the Lions will face Niger on November 13 at Stade Général Seyni Kountché, in Niamey, and on November 17 at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, in Yaoundé.

He's played 12 games with the Lions Indomptables, scoring his first goal on January 20, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Mali in the African Cup of Nations. He made his debut with the selection on September 6, 2014, against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Venegas will play two CONCACAF qualification games for the 2018 World Cup, first against Haiti on November 14 at Estadio Nacional de San José, in Costa Rica, and then on November 17 against Panama, at the Estadio Rommel Fernández, in Panama City.

He has scored four goals in 19 games so far with the Costa Rican national team. Venegas made his senior debut on September 3, 2014, against Nicaragua in the Copa Centroamericana, scoring his first career goal in that game before helping Los Ticos win the tournament. He also scored against Panama, Uruguay and Spain. He recently appeared in four 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup games.

Miller and the U.S. U23 national team will play two friendlies against Brazil, hosts of the 2016 Olympic Games. The first matchup will be held on November 11 at Estadio Ilha do Retiro in Recife. Four days later, the teams meet again at Estadio Mangueirão in Belém.

This will be the first set of friendlies for the U23’s in preparation for the home and home playoff against Colombia in March to determine the final entrant into the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
