The Impact won a fourth consecutive game last Saturday against the New York Red Bulls, but the day belonged to defender Karl W. Ouimette.
The Quebec-born 20 year-old, who signed his professionnal contract on June 5th, 2012, became the very first player from the Academy to start a game in MLS with the Impact. And he did not disappoint, playing the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win.
“I was nervous… really nervous,” he said after the game on Saturday. “I got goose bumps all over, but once you get your first touch, you get into the game. Then I won my first duel and it gave me confidence going forward.”
