CF Montréal confirms first team coaching staff for 2024

MONTREAL – CF Montréal announced on Wednesday the Club’s first team coaching staff ahead of the 2024 season.

Hired on January 8, head coach Laurent Courtois will be supported by a core technical staff of eight individuals, seven of whom are returning from 2023.

The Club’s newest addition to the 2024 technical staff is David Sauvry who joins as assistant coach. Joining Montreal from the LA Galaxy system, Sauvry held the same position with LA Galaxy II in MLS NEXT Pro since March 2022. He also served as head coach of the LA Galaxy U19s since September 2023. 

From 2015 to 2022, the French native was head coach and technical director of Celtix Haut Richelieu (Ligue1 Québec, formerly Première ligue de soccer du Québec). Prior to his arrival in Canada, Sauvry rose through the ranks of French soccer, notably with AS Beaune. From 2008 to 2014, he held various positions with the club, including Pre-Academy coach (U7 to U11), U13 program director and U18 provincial team head coach. A graduate in sport management from the Université de Lyon, he holds a B national coaching licence from Canada Soccer and is continuing his training to obtain his senior A licence.

Returning technical staff members in 2024 include assistant coaches Laurent Ciman and Eduardo Sebrango, fitness coach Barthélémy Delecroix, goalkeeper coach Romuald Peiser, Luca Bucci who will continue to oversee goalkeeping development methodology for the entire Club and video analyst Louan Schlicht. Stefano Pasquali has also been appointed head performance coach, having previously held the position of assistant fitness coach.
