MONTRÉAL — Less that 72 hours after their last game in New York and on the eve of the FIFA international window, CF Montréal returns to its home turf to host the Columbus Crew on Saturday at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo (Free on Apple TV, BPM Sports, CJAD 800).
The Montrealers remain eighth in the Eastern Conference. With the Crew visiting, Montréal will look to defend its Stade Saputo fortress with a 10th win of the season in front of its supporters.
This will be the first game between both sides this season. The hosts hold a 6-2-3 all-time home record against the Crew, along with a +9 goal differential. When the Crew last visited Montréal on September 9, 2022, the Bleu-blanc-noir played a 2-2 draw.
The Columbus Crew arrives in Montréal sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference with 45 points. The team from Ohio heads north of the border after a 2-0 loss in Texas against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night. After losing attacking midfielder Lucas Zelarayán to Saudi Arabia during the transfer window, the Crew immediately brought in former LAFC Uruguayan winger Diego Rossi from Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
During the game, the captain will sport a special armband to celebrate the 30th anniversary, which will include elements from the Club’s history. Furthermore, Nacho Piatti will be present for an autograph session presented by BMO under the stands when the doors open at 6:00pm.
