MONTREAL – CF Montréal will host Houston Dynamo FC this Wednesday at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo, in the team’s penultimate home game of the season (MLS Season Pass, BPM Sports TSN 690).
This is the first of two crucial home games this week for the Montrealers. After Houston, another Western Conference opponent makes a stop at Stade Saputo as the Bleu-blanc-noir will then take on the Portland Timbers on Saturday in the final regular-season home game of the season.
Montreal has historically dominated the Dynamo in games played at Stade Saputo, with an unbeaten record of 7-0-0 and a goal differential of +16. Montreal has not conceded a home goal to the Dynamo in the last 585 minutes of play.
Finally, goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois' next start would be his 30th of the season. He would become the first Montreal ‘keeper since Evan Bush (32) in 2019 to accumulate 30 or more starts in a season. Bush started 30 or more games in five consecutive seasons (2015-31, 2016-33, 2017-31, 2018-34 and 2019-32). Troy Perkins remains the only other goalkeeper at the Club to start 30 games or more in the 2013 season (33).
Houston travels north of the border after lifting the U.S. Open Cup for the second time in its history on September 27 against Miami. The Dynamo sits fifth in the West with 44 points and have suffered just one defeat in their last ten games in all competitions.
Following the Portland match on Saturday, Montreal will conclude the regular season on Saturday, October 21 in Columbus on MLS Decision Day.
