CHICAGO, Illinois – CF Montréal is back on the road to take on Chicago Fire FC this Wednesday at 8:30pm EDT at Soldier Field (MLS Season Pass, RDS, TSN, BPM Sports, TSN 690).
Ninth in the East, the Bleu-blanc-noir has an overall record of 12-7-6 against the Fire and is 3-5-3 at Soldier Field. Upon the Club’s previous visit to Illinois last year, Montreal won 2-0 on August 27.
Chicago, a direct rival in the East’s playoff race, defeated Nashville 1-0 at home last weekend to move up to 11th in the table thanks to a goal from winger Fabian Hebers.
"It's changed a lot with the new head coach. It's a lot tighter and a lot more organized, said head coach Hernán Losada. Chicago hasn’t taken many goals in its last few games. It's going to be a tough game."
Five clubs in the East are now tied on 26 points, ranging from ninth (Montreal) to 13th (New York City).
Lastly, defenders Zachary Brault-Guillard and Aaron Herrera are back with the Club after Canada and Guatemala lost in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Gold Cup. Brault-Guillard was an unused substitute in the Canadians' penalty shoot-out loss to the United States, while Herrera played the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Jamaica. It was his sixth match with the national team.
