FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Undefeated and having collected four points from a possible six in the Club’s first two games of 2024, CF Montréal will return south of the border to take on Inter Miami CF this Sunday at 5pm EST at Chase Stadium (MLS Season Pass, BPM Sports, TSN 690).
This will mark the first of a two-game road trip that will see the Montrealers extend their stay in the United States until after their clash on March 16 in Chicago.
Set to return to Florida after spending the bulk of their preseason in the Sunshine State, the Bleu-blanc-noir will arrive at Chase Stadium with a 2-2-0 away record at Miami and a +1-goal differential. Overall, however, Montreal's record against the Floridian outfit stands at 5-2-1 since Miami joined Major League Soccer.
Sunday's match will also be the Club's 400th regular-season clash since joining MLS in 2012, as well as its 200th away trip. In 399 matches to date, CF Montréal has a 148-172-79 overall record, while the away record stands at 45-110-44.
As for the opponent, Miami is also unbeaten in three matches this season (2-0-1). After a 2-0 opening-game win over Salt Lake, Inter Miami played to a 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy before winning 5-0 in the Florida derby against Orlando last Saturday. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez each collected a brace. Since then, the Herons also began their Concacaf Champions Cup campaign, earning a 2-2 draw against Nashville SC on Thursday night in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.
