The road to Champions League begins Tuesday night at Stade Saputo
CF Montréal is back in action this Tuesday night at 7pm, to take on League One Ontario side Vaughan SC at Stade Saputo, in the Canadian Championship first round. You can purchase tickets to the game here.
Our first game in this year’s national tournament will also be broadcast on One Soccer, BPM Sports, and TSN 690.
With a win, Montreal would go through to the semi-finals to take on its long time rival, Toronto FC.
"We're going into this game like any other, with a lot of responsibility," said head coach Hernan Losada. "We need to get our confidence back, especially our forwards. We take this game very seriously. It's an opportunity to move forward. It's up to us to do better, especially in front of our fans."
The winner of the Canadian Championship earns a spot in the Concacaf Champions League in 2024, the continental tournament in North America.
Vaughan SC, on their end, has just kicked their season off in League One Ontario, starting their season with a 1-1 draw against the North Toronto Nitros. They play again this Saturday against Scrosoppi FC.
CF Montréal will be back at Stade Saputo this Saturday to take on the New York Red Bulls at 7:30pm. Tickets for the game are available here. Don’t miss our Sugar Shack game as we welcome our rivals from New York. You can also watch the game on Apple TV with the MLS Season Pass.
"Every game in the Canadian Championship is important because we want to win another cup for our trophy case," said midfielder Ilias Iliadis. "The first step is against Vaughan FC and we're going to give it our all to win that game."
