MONTREAL – Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, midfielder Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé and forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel, from the first team, as well as defender Jonathan Grant, from FC Montreal, have all been selected by the Canadian U23 national team to take part in the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament, in October.
Crépeau, Gagnon-Laparé (five caps) and Grant have all been previously called in for camps with the senior team over the last two years and participated to the Panam Games with the U23 selection in July. Jackson-Hamel has played two games with the U20 Canadian men’s national team in 2013.
As part of Group A, Canada will face the United States on October 1 and Panama on October 3 at Sporting Park, in Kansas City, before meeting Cuba on October 6 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, in Colorado.
The top two teams from each group will play in the semifinals, with the winners qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
