All Impact supporters are aware of how important Hassoun Camara has been to the Impact this season.
WATCH: Highlights vs VAN
Not only was he the hero in his team’s Canadian title by scoring the equalizing and ultimately title winning goal against the Whitecaps on Wednesday night, but he’s been called upon to play a lot of minutes to start the season.
He played every minute of the seven games in 22 days his team played last month, with travel to California, New York and Toronto during that stretch. The Frenchman was also bumped from right back to central defender and back to right back as a string of injuries to the Impact D-line forced bench boss Marco Schällibaum to make some adjustments.
Up until last Saturday’s 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Union, Camara played every minute of every single game this season, minus the final six in his team’s 1-0 victory over Seattle in the team’s first match of the season. He also scored the winner in game two versus the Portland Timbers in a 2-1 road victory.

Although Sporting Kansas City’s Kamara is spelled with a K, his significance to his side is just as evident as Camara’s with a C.
GOAL: Kamara scores vs Dynamo
Kei Kamara has recently returned to Kansas City following a loan stint with the EPL’s Norwich City, in which the forward came off the bench most nights, scoring once in regular season play.
Since his return, he’s scored twice in his last two games across all competitions (5GP), helping his team come from behind to earn a point at home against the Houston Dynamo last weekend, before scoring the insurance goal in a 2-0 US Open Cup win over Des Moines Menace of the PDL, securing SKC’s spot in the fourth round.
With only Claudio Bieler (6G) scoring goals for SKC up front (the next closest forwards are Kamara and CJ Sapong at one apiece), Kamara’s return will likely help spark Sporting’s attack.
However, look for Camara to have something to say about that this Saturday.
