Full back Donny Toia is featured this week as he takes flight to head clear a ball coming on his side. The black background, cut by a blue horizon line, invites the eye towards the subject of the artwork, who is suspended in the air and staring at the ball.
“In my illustration, we can see Donny Toia in a comic book style during an aerial duel,” explains artist Valérie Blondeau. “To support the impression of propulsion, I added a fragmentation effect.”
The Montreal Impact (8-7-9, 33 points, 5th in East) will try to bounce back during the visit of D.C. United (6-8-10, 28 points, 6th in East) at Stade Saputo. This is a crucial game in the MLS Cup playoff race for which tickets are still available starting at $29.
