These new partnerships were presented during two launches held at selected schools from each school board. Gérard Filion high school, from the Marie-Victorin School Board, welcomed Montreal Impact members Tuesday in Longueuil, while Chambly Academy high school, from the Riverside School Board, hosted the launch Thursday in St-Lambert.
Program spokesperson and Impact midfielder Patrick Leduc was thrilled to be able to voice this message directly to the students: “I am very happy to see that every year our partnership is growing and that the program reaches every time more youth,” declared Leduc. “This gives me the opportunity to share my experience and exchange with them. As a professional player, my role is not only to encourage young students to play sports, but also to support them in pursuing their dreams. And persevering in school is certainly the right way to make their dreams come true.”
With the aim of promoting the importance of persevering in school, the “All the Way with the Impact” program brings together the initiatives of both school boards and of the Montreal Impact with regards to school perseverance among the youth.
This coming fall, Montreal Impact members will visit elementary and high schools on the territory of the CSMV and Riverside School Boards in order to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of studying and of promoting the values of perseverance and self-confidence to succeed academically.
