MONTREAL, June 11, 2013 – The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday a partnership with the Regroupement des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec (RJCCQ), that includes most notably Chinese, French, Latin-American, African and Maghreb youth chambers of commerce.
The partnership’s objective is to promote soccer amongst the number of ethnic communities in Montreal.
Multicultural day at Stade Saputo
In other news, the club is giving an international flavour to its game on July 7 against Chivas USA, as part of its multicultural event at Stade Saputo that day. Music and food from different communities will be part of the program.

“We want to continue to build relationships with the different multi-cultural communities within Montreal,” said Impact vice-president Richard Legendre. “Soccer is a sport that brings people together all around the world and the Impact must be a catalyst for the sport in the Montreal community.”
“The RJCCQ is very pleased to partner with the Montreal Impact, both in business and in sports, where we share a number of common values,” said Christian Bélair, president of Regroupement des Jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec. “I am convinced that our partnership will be beneficial to both organizations and our members.”
The RJCCQ will also organize a networking event at Stade Saputo, during the team’s next home game on June 19 against the Houston Dynamo.
The Regroupement is also putting together the 5th edition of its soccer tournament, set for the end of August.
Please note that the Impact U21 team will play an international friendly against the Haitian national team on Saturday, June 22, at 7:30pm ET at Stade Saputo.
In addition, the Impact has qualified for the 6th edition of the CONCACAF Champions League tournament that is held in parallel with the MLS regular season, which includes teams from North and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. Your Canadian Champions are set to play a home-and-away series against a Guatemalan side during the group stage.
