MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that the team has put Swiss defender Dennis Iapichino on waivers.
“He was not in our plans for the rest of the season and the future, but we wanted to give him the chance to find another team now,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “We are thankful for his services with our club over the last year.”
Iapichino, 23, played 16 regular season games with the Impact in MLS as well as two Amway Canadian Championship games. He joined the team midway through the 2012 season.
The Impact will play its next game at Stade Saputo versus D.C. United this Saturday, August 17, at 7pm ET.
