MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact made its third and fourth round selections of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday, via conference call with the league and its 18 other clubs.


With its third round selection, 48th overall, the Impact selected Pete Caringi from the University of Maryland – Baltimore County. In 2013, he won the Golden Boot in the PDL after scoring 16 goals in 12 games played with the Baltimore Bohemians. He played four seasons with the Retrievers at the university level, scoring 37 goals and adding 17 assists in 79 games played, including 71 starts.


Then in the fourth round, the Impact chose Canadian forward Jordan Ongaro from San Diego State University, with the 67th pick overall. The Edmonton native finished the 2013 Pac-12 season as the leading scorer with 10 goals in 19 games, and he has spent time with the Canadian national team at the U20 and U17 levels.


On January 16, the Impact selected defender Eric Miller, with the 5th overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, following a trade with FC Dallas. In the second round, the club acquired an international roster spot and midfielder George Malki.
