GATINEAU – Prior to its matchup with the Haitian national team, the Montreal Impact U21 team will travel to Gatineau to play the Hull Dynamo Senior AAA team in the 4th edition of the Match de Gala de soccer this Thursday, at Mont-Bleu at 7pm (ET).
The game will raise money for La Fondation Zach, established to help children in their fight against Cystic Fibrosis by purchasing therapeutic vests. The foundation was named after a young boy from the region, Zachary Labrie, who wanted to reach out and help others suffering from the same disease after his hockey team helped him raise $19,000 for a vest that he needed in 2008.
Zach will be animating the game with local radio host Louis-Philippe Brulé, on 104.7FM.
The Impact helped raising $6,000 last year alone in a game that finished 2-1 for the U21s, but where the real winners were the children helped through the foundation.
Tickets prices are $5 for children (7-16) and $10 for adults (17+), while children under the age of six can attend the game for free. Tickets can be purchased at the offices of the Hull and Gatineau soccer associations and through the Foundation (www.fondationzach.com).
International game at Stade Saputo
The Impact U21 will take on the Haitian national team this Saturday at 7:30pm (ET) at Stade Saputo.
