MONTREAL – March 21, 2014 – Tomorrow’s game between the Montreal Impact and the Seattle Sounders FC has been postponed to Sunday, March 23, at 4pm (EDT) due to the procedural management of the main staging area at Olympic Stadium - based on meteorological conditions.
All tickets dated March 22 will be valid for March 23 at 4pm, including all season ticket holders.
Please keep in mind that events scheduled for the main area of Olympic Stadium are permitted only if the three following conditions are all met:
At 24 hours before game time, no snow over 3cm or frozen rain over 3mm is expected for the duration of the event;
No accumulation of snow on the roof equivalent to 5 tons or accumulative weight on the suspension cables;
And, if there is no ice accumulation on the façade of the Tour or on its suspension cables.
Respecting these procedural conditions is for the safety of all spectators and employees at Olympic Stadium during an event in the main area.
These procedures, a direct result of the state of the roof at Olympic Stadium, have been established in conjunction with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and under its approval. All promoters who hold events at Olympic Stadium are aware of these procedures and abide by the regulations.
Keep in mind that this is the first of 21 events held during the winter months to be postponed since 1999, based on the procedural guidelines of the time.
