MONTREAL – The MLS announced on Wednesday that Karl W. Ouimette and Wandrille Lefèvre were selected for the inaugural 2014 Chipotle Homegrown Game, set for August 4, at 10pm EDT, as part of the AT&T MLS All-Star festivities at Providence Park, in Portland. The young stars will take on the U23 Portland Timbers.

Ouimette, 22, has played 18 regular season games with the Impact, including 14 starts, since joining the club in MLS in 2012. He became the first-ever homegrown player, developed through the Academy, to officially join the pro team. He scored his first MLS goal on October 9 against Philadelphia. He’s also played one game with the Canadian senior men’s national team. In 2014, Ouimette started eight of his nine appearances with the Impact.

Lefèvre, 25, made his debut in MLS in 2013, registering one assist in six regular season games, including four starts as a central defender. This season, Lefèvre started five of his six appearances.

The two defenders will be part of a lineup that includes defender DeAndre Yedlin, of the Seattle Sounders FC, who most recently represented the US at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as well as Canadian internationals Ashtone Morgan, of Toronto FC and Russell Teibert, of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

The game will be broadcast live on WatchESPN and MLSSoccer.com.
