MONTREAL - The Canadian Soccer Association announced Wednesday that midfielder Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé, from the Montreal Impact U21 team, was selected by incoming Canadian Head Coach Benito Floro for the first Men's National Team camp of his tenure, taking place in Valencia, Spain from September 1 to 11.
"Jérémy had a very good camp with the Canadian U18 and he keeps progressing at every level," said Impact Sporting Director Nick De Santis. "It will be important for him to seize every moment of his 10-day camp. He will have to stay focused and learn, and I hope he savours every part of this new experience."
The camp will feature two international friendlies on September 8 and 10 against Mauritania at 11:30am (ET), at the Oliva Nova complex, near Valencia.
Gagnon-Laparé will be taking part in his first camp with the senior Canadian team after featuring at various levels of the youth national team setup.
Floro has opted to call-in a blend of youth and experience for the camp with many regulars from Canada's FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and CONCACAF Gold Cup campaigns returning to the fold; but also with three players earning their first call-ups to the Men's National Team.
