Justin Mapp re-signs with the Impact

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday that the club has come to terms with midfielder Justin Mapp for the 2013 season. As per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Mapp, 28, he played 27 games in 2012, including 21 as a starter, scoring twice and adding five assists in 1,641 minutes.

Named to the MLS Best XI squad in 2006, Mapp has played in 248 career games in MLS since 2002, with Montreal, D.C. United, the Chicago Fire and the Philadelphia Union. He won the 2003 and 2006 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. He has also appeared in eight games for the U.S. National Team, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007.


“I’m very excited to be back. I appreciate the opportunity given to me by the Impact to return for another year,” said Mapp. “I’m looking forward to 2013 following the success we had in our inaugural season in MLS.”

He is one of the most technical and gifted players on our team.  We look forward to our technical staff continuing to work with Justin to help him find more consistency in his game, while helping him reach his fullest potential.”


The Impact now has 21 players under contract for the 2013 season.


2013 Training Camp


For a second consecutive year, the Montreal Impact will take part in the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic tournament in Orlando, Florida, in preparation for the 2013 season, from February 9 to 23. Packages to travel to Florida are available via impactmontreal.com.
