MONTREAL – Defender Kamal Miller, goalkeeper James Pantemis and midfielder Samuel Piette have been called up by the Canadian Men’s National Team ahead of three Concacaf qualifying matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Canada will play its first game on September 2 at 8pm against Honduras at BMO Field, followed by a matchup with the United States on September 5 at 8pm at Nissan Stadium, in Nashville. The team will then return to BMO Field on September 8 to host El Salvador at 7:30pm.
This round of matches kicks off Concacaf’s final phase of World Cup qualification, with eight teams set to play 14 games each to determine the region’s representatives.
The three highest-ranked teams secure an automatic qualification to the tournament. The fourth-best team will enter an inter-confederation home-and-away playoff in June 2022 against a yet-to-be-determined opponent from a different confederation.
