MONTREAL – In a seventh consecutive home win (all competitions) and all by shutout, CF Montréal defeated Minnesota United FC 4-0 at Stade Saputo on Saturday night.
Striker Mason Toye, making his first start since April 1, opened the scoring against his former club in the seventh minute.
Montreal then doubled its lead six minutes later thanks to Zachary Brault-Guillard's first goal of the season, completing a long-range pass from Gabriele Corbo.
Toye then completed his brace in the 57th minute, before Rudy Camacho scored the fourth goal of the night on a cross from Bryce Duke (76').
The team will be on break next week before resuming its season on Wednesday, June 21, against Nashville SC at Stade Saputo at 7:30pm (Apple MLS Season Pass, RDS, TSN, BPM Sports, TSN 690).

It's a collective effort between the medical staff, the coaches and the management. I'm exhausted after all the games on this calendar, so imagine how the players feel. It's been crazy. I think one positive thing I'll take away from this sequence is that no matter which player makes the 11, the team continues to operate at the same level. We rotated a lot. The players behaved like professionals when it came to recovery and nutrition. All the players played and contributed.”

“The month of rehab was difficult. I worked very hard in recovery and felt ready to come back. I approached the match like any other. I was lucky enough to score two goals. Soccer is a strange sport. There are ebbs and flows. For one reason or another, we are incredible at home in a way that we haven't been able to reproduce on the road. I hope this break will allow us to recharge our batteries and change that. I was recruited by Minnesota when I was 19. The club helped me develop as a number 9. I didn't realize how much they taught me at the time, but with time and maturity, I realize the role they played in my career. I learned a lot in Minnesota. The great thing about our team is the depth. We've had a crazy schedule. We have players who can rise to the occasion when given the chance, and those who haven't played much this season have shown a remarkable effort. This result shows just how resilient this team is.”
