GAME NOTES

-CF Montréal’s last loss came on March 12 against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium.

WILFRIED NANCY

“The first 15 minutes were difficult. In the second half, the idea was to bring something different. We took a goal against the run of play. But we were close. We lacked the final touch to equalize. When you look at the first goal, we could have defended better when the player entered the final third but it was partially deflected in too. We know that Nashville doesn't need to build a lot to score and be threatening. We have regrets about the second goal during a spell we were playing better. But the guys gave it their all.”

ALISTAIR JOHNSTON

“Nashville is a difficult team to break down. We gave up two goals. If we limited it to one instead, we would have had a better chance. Giving up two goals puts you in a difficult position wherever you go. But good teams win at home. This match is a good learning curve for this team. Any time you can go out and learn, you’re better off for it. We need to put this behind us, realize what we did wrong and learn from it. We need to have better starts and play our game. We played too direct and strayed from our core values.”

ZORHAN BASSONG

“From the moment we conceded the second goal, we had to take more risks going forward. We gave it our best go at tying the game. We were able to reduce the gap to a goal and then we pushed until the end. Unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalize on our chances. But we have a great group. We are like a family. Even if we lost tonight, we remain very motivated for Sunday. We want to work for each other.”
