“He’s on another level! He’s magic! He’s Nacho!”
TVA Sports play-by-play commentator Frédéric Lord said it all. Nacho Piatti is enjoying a remarkable season on all fronts. He’s spectacular. He scores goals. He provides assists. He wins games – and individual awards, too.
For the fourth time this season, voters selected a Nacho goal for MLS AT&T Goal of the Week. Piatti was rewarded for his efforts on the Impact’s fourth goal against the Union, last Saturday night, when he cushioned an Ambroise Oyongo cross with his right foot and blasted a shot into the net with his left.
Piatti triumphed in an all-Montreal final, as Didier Drogba’s first goal, scored after another fine Piatti-Oyongo combination, stood on the other side of the bracket.
Piatti has now won a barely believable 20 percent of all AT&T Goal of the Week mentions this season, as he had also picked up the Week 1, 7 and 10 mentions.
