MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Friday that midfielder and Designated Player Ignacio Piatti has successfully undergone a bursectomy in Argentina Thursday night to treat tendinitis in his left knee.
The eight-week recovery period will enable Piatti to be ready for the start of training camp in 2015.
Following his arrival with the Impact in August, the Argentine midfielder tallied four goals and an assist in six starts in the regular season and two assists in two CONCACAF Champions League games.
