MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact and Major League Soccer unveiled on Monday the schedule for the club’s third season in first division soccer. The team will play a total of 34 regular season games, 17 at home and 17 on the road, over a timetable similar to the 2013 season. Once again, all teams will play the same number of intra and inter-conference games. The official kickoff times and broadcast schedule will be determined shortly.
Season kicks off on March 8
As in 2013, the Impact will start the season with two games on the road, taking on FC Dallas to open the campaign on Saturday, March 8, at Toyota Stadium, before heading to BBVA Compass Stadium to face the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, March 15 in a rematch of the Eastern Conference’s knockout game in this year’s playoffs, back on October 31.

The Impact will host its home opener on Saturday, March 22 at 4pm against the Seattle Sounders FC in what will be the first of three games set for Olympic Stadium. The second game will see the winners of the 2013 Supporters Shield, the New York Red Bulls in Montreal on April 5, while the Chicago Fire comes to town on April 12.
The Impact will host its first game at Stade Saputo on April 26 versus the Philadelphia Union.
13 of 17 regular season home games are scheduled for Saturdays, with two matches to be held on Wednesday nights and two on Sundays.
“We are very satisfied with the schedule,” said Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. “We were able to get the dates we wanted, especially to open the season at home, with three great matchups versus Seattle, New York and Chicago. Games in Montreal are also spread out more over the entire season. We have also taken into account comments from our members when deciding on kickoff times at home, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks.”
What to watch
The Impact will be taking on its Canadian rival, Toronto FC, on two occasions in 2014 – the first set for August 2 at Stade Saputo and the second on October 18 at BMO Field.
The team will also return to Vancouver for the first time since winning its 2013 Amway Canadian Championship over the Whitecaps FC on June 25, at BC Place.
The 2013 Western Conference champion Portland Timbers will visit Montreal on Sunday, July 27, while Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan and the LA Galaxy will take to the field at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, September 10.
The regular season ends for the Impact on October 25 versus D.C. United at Stade Saputo.
