Montreal – Today, the Montreal Impact and approximately 50 volunteers from Deloitte’s Montreal office are joining forces to help their community by teaming up with Special Olympics Quebec (SOQ).
About 50 students from Monseigneur-A.M.-Parent High School in Saint-Hubert have the chance to play soccer today at Stade Saputo. The athletes of the Special Olympics movement are teamed up with Deloitte volunteers to make the experience that much more rewarding. Educators from the Impact Soccer Schools are also on site to oversee this mini-tournament.
This is the sixth year that Deloitte is collaborating with Special Olympics Quebec.
"The generosity of Deloitte employees allows us to organize a unique and memorable experience for these students,” said James Lapierre, Director of Sports Programs and Community Development at Special Olympics Québec. “This day allowed them to demonstrate their athletic ability and to raise awareness on all their capabilities.”
Impact Day is an annual volunteer activity that Deloitte has been organizing for 13 years. This annual event is an example of Deloitte’s ongoing commitment to workplace volunteerism, its determination to contribute to the community’s well-being and helping others. During this day, Deloitte professionals and leaders in 25 cities across the country will get together to participate in over 260 projects, providing more than 40,000 collective hours of service.
