Two tournaments in Los Angeles and Dallas will determine ranking for eMLS Cup at PAX East in March
After the first edition of the eMLS Cup was very successful, drawing 30,000 online fans for the final last April, competition surrounding EA SPORTS FIFA 19 is growing. Three new clubs – Atlanta United, D.C. United, and FC Cincinnati – have added themselves to the 19 existing participants, but also, the competition’s format has been reconfigured, with two eMLS League Series tournaments, which will serve as ranking for the eMLS Cup, held once again this year at PAX East, in Boston, in March.
As soon as January, the Montreal Impact’s eSports player, LyesMTL, will head to Los Angeles for the eMLS League Series One. Then, in February, he’ll make his way to Dallas for the eMLS League Series Two. On top of offering participation prizes depending on ranking at each tournament - which will include FUT Champions skill points – and getting you ready for the 2019 MLS regular season, the two tournaments will determine seeding for the eMLS Cup, which will take place at PAX East in Boston, in March. Remember that LyesMTL reached the final of the 2018 eMLS Cup, the first edition of the tournament, earning a qualification for the Global Series Playoffs, the last qualification stage before the FIFA eWorld Cup.
The eMLS is an official league partner of the EA Sports FIFA 19 Global Series. The eMLS players that participate in the eMLS Cup receive points for the EA SPORTS Global Series Playoffs. Last year, six eMLS players qualified for the Global Series Playoffs. Only the virtual German Bundesliga sent more participants.
