MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that the club has exercised contract options on 14 players for the 2015 season.
Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, defenders Hassoun Camara, Wandrille Lefèvre, Karl W. Ouimette and Maxim Tissot, along with midfielders Justin Mapp, Dilly Duka, Felipe, Calum Mallace, Issey Nakajima-Farran, Blake Smith and Louis Béland-Goyette, as well as forwards Jack McInerney and Anthony Jackson-Hamel, will all be returning to the team.
"I believe that we have a solid group of players who can give even more next year. I am pleased that several important players that make up the nucleus of the team will be back with us in 2015,” said head coach and director of player personnel Frank Klopas. “That said, we want to make important additions to this group in key positions, while we are still in negotiations with Patrice Bernier, Andrés Romero, Heath Pearce and GeGe Soriola.”
Goalkeeper Troy Perkins, whose contract had expired at the end of the 2014 season, is eligible for the Re-Entry Draft, which will be held on December 12, while the club has decided not to exercise the option of midfielder Gorka Larrea.
