Nunez, 19, has represented Canada in the last U-20 World Cup, in Montreal, and played a total of 15 games with the U-20 team, as well as six games with the U-17 team, while Surprenant, 18, has never played an international level game.
Head coach Nick Dasovic has until March 10 to announce the final 20-player roster that will take part to the tournament organized in Carson, California. Canada will face in the preliminary round Mexico, March 12, Haiti, March 14, and Guatemala, March 16.
