CF Montréal striker will represent Canada at U17 World Cup in Qatar
The offseason won’t be starting anytime soon for CF Montréal striker Owen Graham-Roache, who was called up by Canada’s U17 squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The first team striker will be joined by Academy players Samsy Keita, Aghilas Sadek and Josh-Duc Nteziryayo. The World Cup is set to take place in Qatar from November 3 to 27.
“It means a lot obviously playing for my country at the World Cup,” said Graham-Roache. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do since I was young, and now being able to do so is a big part of my career as a player.”

It won’t be easy for head coach Mike Vitulano’s squad, who will take on Uganda on Nov. 5, France on Nov. 8 and Chile on Nov. 11 in the group stage.
“Making it far in the tournament is something I would like to achieve because no Canada U17 team has made it past the group stages,” added Graham-Roache. “Being on a team that could make it far is what my goal is.”
The 17-year-old featured in six games for CF Montréal this year, playing 120 minutes in his first professional season.
“For me, this tournament will give me more opportunities to showcase my skills and at the same time give me more playing time. This experience will also prepare me for the next season with CF Montréal.”
