MONTREAL – Defender Ambroise Oyongo and midfielder Johan Venegas have been selected by their respective national teams to take part in upcoming international games.
Oyongo will join Cameroon for a friendly against Nigeria on October 11 at Stade van Roy, in Denderleuw, Belgium.
He's played 12 games with the Lions Indomptables, scoring his first goal on January 20, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Mali in the African Cup of Nations. He made his debut with the selection on September 6, 2014, against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Venegas will play two friendlies with Los Ticos, against South Africa on October 8 in San Jose, and versus the United States on October 13 at Red Bull Arena, in New Jersey.
He has scored four goals in 16 games so far with the Costa Rican national team. Venegas made his senior debut on September 3, 2014, against Nicaragua in the Copa Centroamericana, scoring his first career goal in that game before helping Los Ticos win the tournament. He also scored against Panama, Uruguay and Spain. He recently appeared in four 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup games.
