Having played in a few Cascadia derbys himself as a member of the Portland Timbers, Impact keeper Troy Perkins knows a thing or two about the Sounders and their supporters. Perkins is fully aware that the crowd will be hostile, but he expects the 10-men in front of him to be sharp.
"They feed off their fans," said Perkins. "They're going to pack it in, I expect a minimum of 50,000 fans. We have to be able to manage that and not find ourselves falling back on our heels. We have to be sharp mentally and physically."
The Montreal Impact is set to kick off the 2013 regular season on the road this Saturday, at 10:30 pm (ET), as the club plays the Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field on opening weekend in MLS. The game will be broadcast live on TVA Sports, CJAD 800 AM and 98,5FM, and is available on illico web, illico mobile and MLS Live.
