Club is back in Montreal for second game at Stade Saputo
CF Montréal is back in Montreal this Wednesday for just its second game at Stade Saputo in 2021, this time against Atlanta United at 7:30pm (TVA Sports, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690). Montreal will be looking to get back to its winning ways on Wednesday. After equalling a Club record and going six consecutive games unbeaten, head coach Wilfried Nancy’s men have suffered losses in their last three games, the most recent one coming last weekend in the form of a 2-1 loss to Inter Miami.
Montreal currently finds itself in seventh in the Eastern Conference, right above the playoff line.
“This is a home game that we absolutely want to win,” said head coach Wilfried Nancy. “This is going to be a hard game against a good team, with a different attitude now because of the coaching change. Maybe they feel better now. But we will need to put together a very good performance to win this game.”
Things haven’t been particularly easy for Atlanta. The team’s last win came the last time these two met, on May 15 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a game Atlanta won 1-0 with a goal in the game’s dying embers. They’re winless in the 11 games since that matchup, suffering five losses and managing six draws.
The Georgian side will get a boost on Wednesday as it was announced that George Bello, Miles Robinson and Brad Guzan would all be available for the squad following their success at the Gold Cup with the American national team.
Injury update
Although Kamal Miller and Samuel Piette are back with squad following their return from the Gold Cup, Romell Quioto and Lassi Lappalainen will be unavailable for two to four weeks due to injury.
CF Montréal will be back in action on Sunday, August 8, to take on D.C. United in Washington before returning home to host the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, August 14, at 8pm. Purchase your tickets here.
