CF Montréal will attempt to continue its undefeated streak in 2021 at Stade Saputo when it hosts Nashville SC. With the first two games ending in draws, there must be a winner Saturday night. (Game presented by Vidéotron / TVA Sports, TSN, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690)
The challenge for the Montrealers will be an important one: they will face a team with only two losses in 22 games. This record puts Gary Smith's men in third place in the Eastern Conference. CF Montréal, who is undefeated in four games, is in sixth place.
In both draws against Montreal, Nashville SC came from behind to even the score.
"I noticed in our games against them that they are resilient. They never give up," said head coach Wilfried Nancy in a pre-game press conference. “It's a great challenge. I can't wait to face them at home and try to finally win against them."
Two important players will be unavailable due to suspensions on both sides: Rudy Camacho for Montreal and Dax McCarty for Nashville.
Nancy will be able to count on the return of several national team players, including Canadian Kamal Miller: "I definitely feel ready to be on the field and take a leadership role with Kiki (Struna, injured) and Rudy out. I'm ready to help and use my experience as the most experienced player on defense. I'm looking forward to playing.”
