Head-to-head
This is the second of three regular season meetings between the two clubs in 2014. In the first matchup on April 19, the Impact fell 4-0 to SKC at Sporting Park in Kansas City.
In seven games played since the Impact joined MLS, the bleu-blanc-noir has an all-time record of 3-3-1 versus SKC. Last season, the Impact went 2-1-0 in three meetings.
Midfielder Justin Mapp has four career goals versus Sporting, while Jack McInerney has found the back of the net on three occasions.
Impact news
The Impact will be looking to find another win in MLS following its 2-1 loss to FC Edmonton in the Amway Canadian Championship’s first leg of the semi-final series. Jack McInerney scored the bleu-blanc-noir’s lone goal, his second from four games in an Impact uniform across all competitions.
However, the Impact is undefeated in its last three home games (1-0-2). Coming off a bye week in regular season play, the Impact was victorious in its most recent game in MLS, defeating the Philadelphia Union 1-0 at Stade Saputo on April 26, thanks to a goal by Felipe, who now leads the Impact in scoring with two goals to go along with his two assists.

Defender Hassoun Camara will miss the game, serving an automatic one-game suspension due to yellow card accumulation.
Sporting KC news
Jacob Peterson and Claudio Bieler, assisted by Graham Zusi, scored in a 2-0 win over Columbus as SKC moved back into first place in the Eastern Conference standings last weekend.
Zusi’s importance to SKC is undeniable. The Crew game marked the 44th match in Zusi's 140 career MLS appearances in which he has recorded either a goal or an assist. In those 44 games, Sporting KC registered 36 wins and lost only once.
The Sporting defence - including Man of the Match goalkeeper Eric Kronberg - put in another stellar performance, holding its opponent scoreless for the fourth time this season.
Forward Dom Dwyer leads the team with four goals, including two against the Impact in his team’s 4-0 home victory three weeks ago.
