MONTREAL – In a rematch of the Canadian Championship, the Montreal Impact (13-8-6) takes on rivals Vancouver Whitecaps FC (10-10-8) at Stade Saputo this Saturday, at 2pm ET. The game will be broadcast live on TSN/RDS and on CJAD 800, and is available with illico mobile. You can also get live updates using the Impact mobile app or by following @impactmontreal on twitter.
The Impact sits in second place in the Eastern Conference standings with 45 points from 27 games played, three points behind the New York Red Bulls.

Matchday activities
As part of the game day festivities presented by Air Canada, luggage tags will be given out upon exiting the stadium at the end of the game. The Impact and Canpar are also organizing a used soccer equipment drive, in order to help disadvantaged children.
Also, Saturday at Stade Saputo, season ticket holders can take advantage of a 40% discount at the boutique on selected items upon presentation of their supporters’ card.
The club’s two supporters groups will honour the career of former striker Eduardo Sebrango before the game.
Head to Head
This is the third and final meeting between these teams in 2013. Following a 0-0 tie in the first leg of the Canadian Championship in Montreal on May 15 and a 2-2 tie in the return leg in Vancouver on May 29, the Impact won the Voyageurs Cup and qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League as Amway Canadian Champions.
In 2012, the Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps FC faced each other once in regular season play. The Impact lost 2-0 in its inaugural game in MLS on March 10 at BC Place.
Impact News
The Impact has lost its last two games over all competitions, first at home last Saturday versus the Columbus Crew 2-1 in MLS play before falling 3-0 in San Jose in CONCACAF Champions League group action.
Before Saturday’s loss, the Impact was undefeated in five straight matches at Stade Saputo (3-0-2), including three straight victories.
The Impact’s Designated Player Marco Di Vaio has scored seven goals in his last five MLS games, including his league leading 18th of the season last Saturday in the loss to Columbus. Di Vaio is two goals away from becoming just the 11th player to hit the 20 goal plateau in Major League Soccer history.
Midfielder Patrice Bernier’s next start will be the 50th of his career with the Impact in MLS.
Midfielder Felipe and defender Jeb Brovsky have been issued four yellow cards. Their next caution will result in an automatic one-game suspension.
The Impact has the best home record in the Eastern Conference with nine wins, two losses and three ties and is first in Major League Soccer with 29 goals at home.
Whitecaps FC news
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC sit in 7th spot in the Western Conference, with 38 points from 28 games played, but are just five points out of a playoff spot.
Despite missing several key players, including Andy O’Brien, Johnny Leveron and Russell Teibert, the visiting ‘Caps managed to scrap out an important point last weekend - a 0-0 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes. After missing the last two matches, Teibert could be available Saturday.
Centre Back Brad Rusin fell in battle last weekend, forcing Jay DeMerit into action. The ‘Caps skipper didn’t appear to miss a beat in his first appearance since rupturing his Achilles tendon in Vancouver’s March 2 season opener. In 60 minutes of play, he had 11 clearances, two blocks, and completed 17 of 20 passes.
Team leading scorer Camilo (14G, 26GP) and fellow striker Kenny Miller (7G, 19GP) are always dangerous on the offensive side of the ball, while midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has been the team’s engine in midfield all season long.
Upcoming games
The team will play its final game of the CONCACAF Champions League group stage this Tuesday, at Stade Saputo, hosting Guatemalan club CD Heredia at 8pm ET, before traveling to Chicago for a regular season matchup versus the Chicago Fire on Saturday, September 28, at 8:30pm ET.
