COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Montreal Impact left Columbus with a 2-1 victory over the Crew, Saturday night, in its very first reserve league game of the season, at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Midfielder Lamar Neagle opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when his sliding shot, resulting from a square ball by forward Andrew Wenger who was pushing down the right flank, beat the Crew keeper opposite side.

The Crew’s best scoring chance in the first half came in the 35th minute. Former Impact forward Aaron Schoenfeld, acquired by the Crew in a trade yesterday for a supplemental draft pick, fired a shot from top of the box, right side, that hit the left post of goalkeeper Greg Sutton.

The Impact doubled its lead in the 55th minute when midfielder Miguel Montaño fired a shot from just inside the box, on the left side.

In the 75th minute, Wenger sprung substitute Anthony Jackson-Hamel of the Impact Academy in the area, but his left-footed shot just missed right side.

Crew defender Aubrey Perry replied in the 89th minute after firing a top corner shot from 25 yards out, beating Sutton to his right.

In the dying seconds, Sutton made a game saving stop, diving to his right, following a booming shot by defender Eric Gehrig from just outside the penalty area.
