RESERVE LEAGUE: Montreal Impact – New England Revolution
Tuesday, June 5, 10am (ET)
Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, Montreal
MONTREAL, Quebec – The Montreal Impact (2-1-1) will play its second Reserve League game in three days, Tuesday, versus the New England Revolution (0-1-1), at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, at 10am (ET). The game is open to the public and admission is free of charge.
With a three-week break in regular season action, Impact head coach Jesse Marsch and his coaching staff plans to keep many of his regulars in game shape.
“We are going to use the game tomorrow as a run for our first group,” said Marsch. “It is an opportunity to keep our first group sharp during this break. The break is good for us, as it gives us a chance for some down time after a charge first half but the challenge is to keep our game fitness, and tomorrow’s game is a chance for us to do that.”
“We approach every game as a regular season game,” said midfielder Felipe. “We need to look at this game as preparation for June 16 against Seattle, so it’s important that we play our game. The conditions may be a little difficult, with the rain and an early start time, but it’s important that we take this game seriously to be ready for the reopening of Stade Saputo.”
The Impact last played on Saturday versus Toronto FC in Reserve League action. Goals by forward Eduardo Sebrango and midfielder Sinisa Ubiparipovic secured a 2-2 draw versus its Canadian rivals, who managed to steal a point from the Impact in the game’s final seconds on an own goal.
New England beat the Chicago Fire last Saturday in MLS regular season play by a 2-0 score, with midfielder Benny Feilhaber scoring a goal and adding an assist in the win. Rookie Kelyn Rowe added the other marker.
