With Frank Klopas’ former team in town for a second time this season (first at Stade Saputo), there will most definitely be an added layer to the importance of Saturday’s game at Stade Saputo at 6:30pm.
- Will Piatti play? – With the Impact’s newest DP in town and having two training sessions under his belt, Impact fans should get the chance to see the skills that made him so important in San Lorenzo’s run to the Copa Libertadores title.
- Win one for the gaffer – After a 1-1 draw in their first meeting in Montreal in April at Olympic Stadium, the team may find some added inspiration by giving their head coach a win over his former team.
- End the streak – IMFC will be looking to end a winless streak, a stretch in which despite playing well in most of those games with the advantage in possession and shots, the bleu-blanc-noir has come up on the short end of the stick.
- 3 games in 8 days – With the return match of the CONCACAF Champions League against C.D. FAS set for next Wednesday in El Salvador, and an MLS regular season contest with the New York Red Bulls next Saturday, the Impact has a heavy workload ahead with lots of travel in between. The technical staff will be forced to manage the roster over that span. Good news, IMFC is close to full health.
