MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Saturday that its home opener at Stade Saputo on Saturday, April 18, against Chicago, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 23 at 8pm EDT.
The match was moved because the Impact will leave for Mexico next week to allow time to prepare for the first leg of the Champions League finals against Club América on April 22, at Estadio Azteca, in Mexico City.
“We want to put all chances on our side for this match,” said Richard Legendre, executive vice president of the Montreal Impact. “The team will work to acclimatize to the altitude of 2,500 metres. After the match in Houston, all our energies will be put towards the game against Club América. We want to get the best possible result before the big matchup at home on April 29 at Olympic Stadium.”
All tickets issued for the April 18 game will be honoured on September 23, including season tickets.
Those who would like a refund or to exchange their tickets for April 18 may do so as of Monday, April 20, by contacting the initial purchase point. Tickets must be returned with the original stub before Friday, May 29, 2015.
