Despite a tough loss last weekend to Colorado, the team got a result in Toronto Wednesday night in the Amway Canadian Championship. However, the team will have to improve on its defensive mistakes, especially against the top team in the Eastern Conference – the New England Revolution – this Saturday.
1. Top team in town
the New England Revolution is the best team in the Eastern Conference with a record of 7-3-2 this season, good for 23 points. It’s the fourth best offensive team in the league with 21 goals scored.
2. McInerney loves the Revs
Jack Mac has scored four goals against the Revolution in just five starts (nine total appearances) over his career, including three game winners.
3. Breakout season
Revs rookie forward Patrick Mullins, playing in just five games this season, has scored four goals, one in each of the team’s last four contests. He played 45 minutes in the season opener and then was relegated to the bench until he came on as a starter on May 5, against Toronto, and has seen 90 minutes through in all four of his last starts.
