The Montreal Impact forward line suffered a blow, only five minutes in this past Saturday’s game, as Matteo Mancosu had to be subbed off because of a thigh injury, but varied options remain available for the technical staff. Dominic Oduro, Anthony Jackson-Hamel and Nick DePuy all offer interesting profiles to the Bleu-blanc-noir for the lone striker role.
“We have three options up front, three players with different profiles, Oduro, Jackson-Hamel, or DePuy, who have been doing well in training,” said Impact assistant coach Jason Di Tullio. “It’s good to have three different options with Mancosu’s injury. It allows us to study our opponent, to see how we can hurt them and decide what type of profile we want to start the game up top for us for this weekend.”
“I’m not a stranger to that position. I played there last year at the start of the season,” followed Oduro. “If my number is called, I’ll be ready for whatever the coaches give me, whether it’s up front or on the wings.”
“It’s never nice to see a teammate get injured,” explained Jackson-Hamel. “We will see how we will adapt. I proved since the start of the season that I can bring something to the team. As in every other game, we want to win this weekend in Washington.”
