Playing his 199th MLS game, Impact midfielder Justin Mapp opened the scoring in the 24th minute with this stunner from 35 yards, on Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium.
The 28 year-old cut towards the middle, dribbling towards goal, then firing a left-footed blast from 35 yards out that bounced off the post before beating Quake’s keeper Jon Busch low, to his left. Mapp would also score his team's second goal, early in the second half.
Should this goal be in the candidates for the AT&T MLS Goal of the week?
