To clarify, that was 6-0 victory for the Mexican side and ultimately a series victory by a 6-3 aggregate score. Despite Herediano going up 3-0 at home in the first leg, América was still a very confident side with the decisive match back in Mexico.

Club América is also one of the most storied and richest teams in CONCACAF, having won 12 Liga MX titles (most of any clubs) and has a payroll estimated somewhere between $40 and $50 million.
In a fairy tale type of run like the one the Impact is currently on, topping a club like America in the final would be a fitting end to the story and the conclusion will be a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup.
